At-Risk for College Students Overview

At-Risk for College Students is an evidence-based online program to improve emotional wellness and safety on campus. Unlike other gatekeeper-training programs, At-Risk is a simulation that utilizes emotionally responsive, virtual humans in a gaming environment. The program is designed to teach participants how to recognize signs of psychological distress in a fellow student and allows them to practice, through role-play conversations, how to approach at-risk students, how to discuss their concerns, and how to connect them with resources on and off campus. Training provides gatekeepers with the skills and confidence they need to handle similar situations in real life.

LGBTQ on Campus for Students Overview

Students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQ) are at higher risk of discrimination and psychological distress, including suicidal ideation, than their heterosexual peers. In order to create a climate where students feel safe, are willing to participate fully and are less likely to drop out, campuses need to implement programming that addresses harassment and bias.

LGBTQ on Campus for Students is a 30-minute online, interactive training simulation that assists institutions of higher education in creating a safe and supportive campus community by 1) increasing awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by LGBTQ students, and 2) building the skills of students to connect and communicate with respect.

LGBTQ on Campus is the result of a collaboration among The Trevor Project, Campus Pride and Kognito Interactive.

Veterans on Campus: Peer Program Overview

Returning veterans enter the classroom with valuable life and leadership experiences; however, transitioning to civilian and student life presents unique challenges for many of them.

Veterans on Campus: Peer Program is an online, interactive training simulation that teaches student veterans and student leaders how to support fellow student veterans as they face challenges in transitioning to college life, including isolation, cultural disparities, academic difficulties, time management, and mental-health issues such as TBI, depression, and PTSD.

The simulation was developed in collaboration between Student Veterans of America ( and Kognito Interactive (, a developer of evidence-based role-playing training simulations.
